Who we are?
Our mission is to serve and empower underprivileged students across Ghanaian communities with youth literacy and to build self-reliance and resilience with the goal to supplement their formal education and knowledge with the necessary resources to unleash the genius, the power and the passion to elevate our world to a higher pedestal.
We believe education will bring forth enriched intellectual communities for sustained development.
Our Story
Felix (Nana) Fosuhene Apenteng Boakye Yiadom, hailing from the Oforikrom community, was widely recognized in the community as a brilliant child with great potential. Despite his intelligence, he faced significant educational obstacles due to financial constraints. During his time at Bompata Senior High School, he struggled to afford books and other necessities, relying on the limited support from his aging father after losing his mother at a young age. Unfortunately, these hardships hindered his pursuit of further education, despite his success in passing his Secondary school exams.
Driven by his unwavering determination, Felix (Nana) ventured into the business world, specializing in the trade of diverse items to sustain himself and his siblings. Eventually, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to the bustling streets of Adum-Kumasi, where he found himself selling movies and music cassettes.
Although he excelled in this venture and managed to support his younger brother, who is now a pharmacist, and his younger sister, who is now a Data Analyst, Nana couldn’t shake off his belief that he could achieve more than selling cassettes.
With a long-standing dream of pursuing his own education after ensuring his siblings’ university education, Nana saved up money from his business to continue his studies. He gained admission to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he pursued a degree in Economics. Nana excelled academically, even serving as the Students’ Provost during his time there. His academic excellence opened doors for him, and he was offered admission to the University of Colorado Denver (UCD) in the United States, where he completed his master’s program in Economics. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Economics at American University in Washington DC.
Drawing from his personal experiences and the challenges he faced growing up, Nana made it his mission to support individuals aspiring to pursue education. He firmly believes that with determination, hard work, and proper support, anyone can achieve their dreams. While Nana continues to work towards his own goals, he established the Stand Together Educational Foundation to aid brilliant and financially disadvantaged students. The foundation aims to offer comprehensive educational support, empowering individuals to shape their own futures.
By joining forces with the foundation, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, just as Felix (Nana) experienced during his early education. Together, let’s support the Stand Together Educational Foundation and ensure that deserving students have the necessary tools and resources to thrive in their academic journeys. Your support can have a lasting impact, contributing to beneficial change and enlightenment
